- Some of the niceties of ScreenFlow include the program’s ability to record video not just from Mac’s screen, but also from a connected iPhone, iPod touch or iPad. It, too, can import video and audio from external webcams and microphones, and offers the highest bitrate for recording a retina display (30fps).
- The Holy Grail of screen recording on Mac. Mac OSX has QuickTime Player built-in. QuickTime allows you to easily do a screen recording. However, when doing so, you only get the screen – no audio.
You can record the sound of the iPhone system, built-in microphone or other devices, or you can also choose 'No Audio' to record iPhone screen without sound. Record iPhone screen on Mac. Click Browse and select a folder for the recorded video. Click the red REC button to record iPhone screen with sound.
- Open Options by clicking the Options button on the toolbar
- On the Devices under Audio, at least one of the following should be selected
- Microphone - Select this option to capture sound from a microphone; make sure that the correct device is selected from the drop-down list.
- Speakers - Select this option to capture sound produced by other applications.
*Please note that Debut needs to be launched prior to the application that you are recording for this to work properly - Mouse Clicks - Select this option to record a sound when the mouse is clicked.
*The sound is recorded even if no audio device is found in the system. - If you are trying to record sound from streaming video on your computer, you would need to use a stereo mix option (if your sound card supports this).
- In most cases, you can connect a male to male 3.5mm stereo cable from the speaker output on the computer to the Line In port.
- This will cause the audio to go out through the speaker port, then back in through the line in where it will be recorded.
How to enable the Wave Out Mix ('Stereo Mix', 'Record what you hear') in Windows 7/Vista
- From the Start Menu, open the Control Panel
- Click on Hardware and Sound
- Click on Sound
- Select the Recording tab
- Right click on the background of the tab and select Show Disabled Devices
- Find the Wave Out Mix ('Stereo Mix', 'Record What you hear') item
- Right click on it and select Enable

How to enable the Wave Out Mix ('Stereo Mix', 'Record What you hear') in Windows XP
- From the Start Menu, open the Control Panel
- Click on Sounds and Audio Devices
- Click on Advanced Button (first one)
- This will open the sound control panel
- Click Options
- Click Properties
- Select your input mixer device (sound card input)
- For example: Realtek HD Audio Input
- Select adjust volume for recording
- Select Stereo Mix volume control
- Click OK
- In the volume control panel that opens, check that the mute button for the 'stereo mix' volume is deselected
